~ The I Love You's
[Barn]
(Dillon pokes his head inside to make sure it's empty)
Dillon: Looks good. Come on. (Motions for
Georgie to go in)
Georgie: Ok. (Walks in) So occasionally
you've been a bit bizarre.
Dillon: (shuts the door quietly) I prefer
quirky
Georgie: But making me duck down in the
back of a greasy truck?
Dillon: (takes off his coat and walks over
to her) What? You're a natural. (Walks over to side of the barn)
Georgie: Look, if we're running from my
dad, this is not going to happen, you remember the last time.
Dillon: (puts his coat on a nearby item)
The last time your dad was able to track (looking out the openings to
make sure nobody's coming) Kyle's bike. (Looks back at her) We're not
leaving a trace today.
Georgie: So what are we supposed to do?
Just stay here until, you know, school starts? Yeah, that'll go over
real great with Mac.
Dillon: Georgie would you just shut up
for a second?
Georgie: I cannot believe you just told
me to shut up! (Dillon starts moving towards her) I am not some rag
doll for you to just throw around and tell me what to do...
(Dillon grabs her face and kisses him, she pushes him away angry)
Dillon: (Looks surprised) What was that?
What are you doing? You're supposed to, you know, like, fight it for
a second and then go all weak and...
Georgie: I'm not some actress in a movie,
Dillon. This is real and I am mad.
Dillon: I'm getting that now.
Georgie: Then tell me what we're doing
here.
Dillon: What we're doing here is saving
your life, OK? The reason that I agreed to be Faith's alibi...to act
like her...like her boytoy was to protect you.
Georgie: Faith threatened me?
Dillon: Yes. She said if I didn't go along
with her, she'd kill you. So now, do you understand (throws some hay)
why I don't care about what your dad thinks about any of this?
Georgie: But Faith's in jail.
Dillon: It doesn't matter at all. She has
thugs all over the place.
Georgie: I have to call my dad (reaches
in her purse for her cell phone)
Dillon: (Fighting her for her cell phone)
No. No. No. No. That (gets her cell phone) is what got us into this
mess in the first place.
(Georgie
is sitting down on the ground against a bushel of hay and Dillon is
sitting on top of it)
Georgie: I can't believe you did all that.
Stood up to Faith, lied to the cops, (Dillon sits down on the ground
next to her) and, rushed me out of town.
(Both chuckle)
Dillon: Well, you alive is pretty high
up on my list of priorities. What can I say? (They stare at each other)
I'd die before I'd let anything happen to you.
Georgie: (pauses for a moment looking at
him) But if I had not run straight to Mac and told him you were covering
for Faith, we wouldn't even be here. You'd be at home with the Quartermaines...if
you didn't have me to worry about.
Dillon: Hey, if I didn't have you, I'd
be completely and totally alone. If I didn't have you (starts to stand
up) I wouldn't have had that...that great (stands up) night in that
motel room where we...where we stayed up all night and we talked about
books and...and movies and life and it was amazing. And I wouldn't have
had that...that kiss at your house that just...(Georgie's now standing)
I wouldn't...I wouldn't have had anybody to think about while the fireworks
were going off on the fourth of July. Being with you, Georgie is...is
so much better than being anywhere else in the world even if its in
this barn just because I'm with you. You know? I love you. (Georgie
smiles) Cue the music. Sweep the camera full out. I love you.
(Georgie
hasn't responded)
Dillon: (Drops cell phone to the ground)
OK Maybe you're not big on heartfelt declarations. That's OK
That's...that's totally fine. I...I got a thing...I'm just going to
pry this size 10 boot out of my mouth and then dunk my head into the
water barrel out front. (Heads for the door)
Georgie: (Goes after him) Dillon wait.
Dillon: (Stops and turns around) No! No.
You must be really freaked out right now, trapped in a barn with some
guy who kind of...you might like just a little bit who just smacked
you between the eyes with the L word.
Georgie: If you would just listen to me...
Dillon: Wow! The L word. It's used a lot,
isn't it? If we could just...let's...her we go, let's vow never to use
that word again. Let's just not. You know what? Oh,
hey, hey, I'll put it to you this way...we'll erase it from the English
language, ok? (Pretending to erase it) Here we go. (Making erasing noises)
It's being erased. There it goes. Bye. (Waving) Bye. There it goes.
And Swahili...(pretending to erase) Swahili. (Still erasing) This one
gets Swahili and Hindu. And there's Hebrew. If it ever shows up again,
you know, they'll just cut it out in editing, it's no problem. We can
just...we can just work on this...
(Georgie cuts him off by kissing him)
Georgie: Now it's your turn to shut up.
Dillon: (Dazed) Uh...yeah, doing that,
ok
Georgie: I never want to forget what you
said. Because if I did then, then I might not be able to say that I
love you back.
(Dillon smiles and kisses her)
(Dillon
& Georgie are now sitting down on the ground leaning against a bushel
of hay. Dillon has his arm around Georgie's shoulder and she's leaning
against him)
Dillon: Scale of 1-10, how do you rate
this moment?
Georgie: (Looks at him) 9.9
Dillon: (Looks at her) Um, excuse me, call
me an overachiever but I was looking for a 10.
Georgie: (chuckles and then looks at him)
Overachiever.
Dillon: You asked for it. (Kisses her)
Georgie: (Pulls forward) You always do
this.
Dillon: What?
Georgie: Surprise me, make it better. Make
me laugh even when the worst stuff is happening.
Dillon: (Laughs) Well, you know, I did
kind of want to take the focus off the fact that we're in a barn. Didn't
exactly picture it would happen this way.
Georgie: You pictured it before?
Dillon: Yeah. You have to picture all of
life's great moments before they happen, you know?
Georgie: Well, how'd you see it? I mean,
in your head?
Dillon: Ok Um...New Orleans...
Georgie: Ok
Dillon: Hot, thick, humid night during
Mardi Gras. We're standing on a balcony. You've got beads all over you
and you're watching the parade going on below. I take your hand and
I pull you into, like, a little corner, like a little niche in the building,
(Georgie's smiling) and we can still hear the crowds celebrating in
the background and I just...I tell you I love you, and we have this
perfect private moment.
Georgie: Wow. You weren't kidding. (Leans
back against him)
Dillon: (Puts his arm around her shoulder)
Yeah or a Sunday morning in England, uh, over coffee at our flat uncovent
gardens. That would be really nice. Or in Paraguay, right before stealing
the Kane diamond. That would really cool. Now...
Georgie: The barn worked. Indiana, the
barn is very good.
Dillon: At least I could've given you flowers.
Georgie: I'd probably try to eat them.
(Both laugh)
Dillon: Oh, God, I'm really hungry, too.
Georgie: yeah.
Dillon: (gets up, followed by Georgie)
I'm going to go get something.
Georgie: Oh, no, no, no ,no we've got to
stay together.
Dillon: No, we need supplies. What's important
is that you stay out of sight (starts to head for the door)
Georgie: But if Faith's after me, she's
going to be looking for you, too.
Dillon: I will be careful. (Opens the door)
Hey, it's me. (Leaves)
Georgie: (more to herself) That's what
I'm afraid of.
[Outside
Kelly's]
(Dillon's looking in the window and is grabbed by two of Faith's guys.
One guy has his hand over Dillon's mouth)
Man: Your girlfriend...we want to know
where she's hiding.
[Barn]
(Georgie hears a noise. Owl hoots, floor creeks)
Georgie: (Whispers) Dillon? Is that you?
(No response) OK
(Footsteps. Georgie hides and then grabs Dillon's coat and causes the
thing it was on to clang and make noise. A man walks in with a flashlight)
[Outside
Kelly's]
Man: My partner's going to uncover your
mouth. Scream and we'll take it out on the girl when we find her.
(Dillon nods)
Dillon: (Tries to play it cool) I know.
It's...it's cool. I don't know where Georgie is though. I mean, her
father's the police commissioner, she might be in protective custody.
Couldn't tell ya.
Man: The boss said you'd be a talker.
(The man's partner punches Dillon in the stomach and Lorenzo walks up)
Lorenzo: Two against one hardly seems fair.
Man: We don't want any trouble.
Lorenzo: Then leave. Don't come near him
again. (The guys leave) What did I tell you about being in the wrong
place at the wrong time?
Dillon: (Trying to catch his breath) It;s...it's
not me that's in trouble. It's my girlfriend.
Lorenzo: Georgie?
Dillon: (Still trying to catch his breath)
Yeah. Yeah, we got on Faith's...(taking a deep breath)
Lorenzo: Slow down.
Dillon: We got on Faith Rosco's bad side,
and now she wants to hurt her.
Lorenzo: So talk your way out of it.
Dillon: Faith is a psycho and she's planning
on killing my girlfriend, OK? I...I'm going to do everything I can to
stop that, but it's going to be a lot easier if you're on my side. Will
you help me?
[Barn]
(Man searches and leaves and Georgie comes out of her spot and the guy
walks back in and catches her)
Man: This is my property and you don't
belong here. I guess I"m going to have to show you what I do with
trespassers
[Outside
Kelly's]
Lorenzo: You want me to make Faith back
off?
Dillon: Hey, no big deal, right? I mean,
she's obviously small time compared to a guy like you. You could knock
this off over breakfast.
Lorenzo: You think?
Dillon: I'm serious. Georgie is everything
to me, and you know I don't have time to mess around. I need to hurry.
And if you can't help me I have to find somebody else...
Lorenzo: You obviously care about her very
much.
Dillon: Yes, sir I do and she's in trouble
so I need your help.
Lorenzo: Strong words. You should be careful
who you say them to. You never know when someone might expect something
in return.
